When the darkness comes
I must wait it out alone
For the road that I've chosen
Is one that no one will follow

It is a darkness filled with silence
Unbroken for what seems like eternity
It is a night that never breaks
Awaiting a dawn that may never come

I have no strength for this road
And the ones that I depend on dare not follow
Any screams I shall make
Will be swallowed up and heard by no one
For the darkness is truly vast

Here all joy is sucked out
And replaced with grief
Companionship is removed
And the world is filled with loneliness

Yet I must be strong
Finding life and light
Beyond myself and this world
I must find the One who can be with me
And I can depend on for all things

Hes strength shall become my own
And through Hes power
We shall overcome

The guy In The Dark
Has a Dark face without a name
And a Dark smile to hide the pain
The guy In the Dark
Doesn't know how much longer he can keep trying
Everyday he's slowly dying
The guy in the Dark
Sits all alone
But wants a place to truly call home
The guy in the Dark
Wants nothing more than to be free

The quintessential sound of death
I'm a shadow in the dark
Like the reaper's icy breath

I'm a statue set in stone
In apathetic sleep
Let the world just pass me by
And I will never weep

I'm a shadow in the dark

You don't have to set me free
You don't have to light my night
You don't have to feel my breath
Or step into my line of sight
For I'm a shadow in the dark
You know I'm there but you can't see

I have a big dark secret, stored deep inside of me
should i tell? should i not? what should it be?
for every day that comes, this big dark secret grows
and the fear that i live in takes ahold
it will not go, this big dark secret
it must be told, this big dark secret
so why have i waited for so long?
life will never get better if i just play along
because this big dark secret destroys my life
and it must be told, no matter what the price

The light is getting dark
the clouds are turning gray
but i'll be ok

The day turns to night
and it's not going to change
So i'll walk through the streets
to see myself in a different light

The dark catches up and i'm covered
with death and dark
the dark is my new best friend
Through the dark i can control death

Through my death i can see my life
the life that was, is and could have been
with my new found friend comes
the choice of life or death

The dark is good it's new
the light was bad it's old
through the dark new choices arrive
with the light nothing was to choose

The dark is getting darker
but is that good or bad
cause it means death is for sure
I want the light back
I want to see myself not a stranger
